My commitment is to usher in a new era of transparency and integrity within the administration. With a dedication to the community, my foremost goal is to eradicate corruption that may compromise the trust citizens place in their law enforcement. We are resolutely focused on eliminating the opioid crisis, particularly the perilous grip of fentanyl, safeguarding our neighborhoods from its devastating effects. Additionally, our vision extends to combating condominium fraud, ensuring that the residents of Miami-Dade County can trust in the security and legality of their homes. Together, we aspire to create a safer, more accountable community that thrives on the principles of justice, honesty, and public welfare.
As sheriff, I am committed to preventing condominium fraud and false assessments in Miami-Dade County. Instances of fraud and deceptive practices undermine the trust within our communities and compromise the financial well-being of residents. I will prioritize the establishment of proactive measures, including increased vigilance in property transactions, rigorous background checks for property managers and board members, and the implementation of advanced technology to detect and prevent fraudulent activities. Educating residents about common scams and promoting transparency in association affairs will be integral to our prevention efforts. By fostering an environment of accountability and transparency, we can safeguard the interests of condominium owners, ensuring that their investments are protected and that our community remains a place of trust and integrity.
As a candidate for sheriff in Miami-Dade County, my commitment to the safety and well-being of our community is of utmost importance. Addressing immigration concerns is a key aspect of this commitment. I believe it is essential to reform immigration laws to ensure the responsible management of our county's resources and maintain public order. By limiting the number of immigrants entering the county, implementing stricter regulations, and increasing police enforcement, we can better control the influx and address any potential security risks. On day one in office, I will sign a memo of understanding with homeland security under section 287(g). Section 287(g), allows ICE to train state and local police to enforce federal immigration laws. I plan on implementing a new method to document immigrants called DNA "buybacks".
If elected sheriff of Miami-Dade County, one of my top priorities will be bringing closure to the lingering pain and uncertainty surrounding cold cases. Families and communities affected by unsolved crimes deserve answers and justice. I will dedicate resources and implement innovative investigative techniques to reexamine these cases, leveraging advancements in technology and collaboration with relevant agencies. By prioritizing the resolution of cold cases, we not only provide closure for the victims' families but also send a powerful message that no crime will be forgotten or left unresolved in our community.
